California: Day 5

Hueneme Beach

Hueneme Beach

Just a regular day on Hollywood Blvd.

Just a regular day on Hollywood Blvd.

Today was our last day in Oxnard/Hueneme, so we chilled out in our awesome hammock for a bit. I went down to the pier to experiment with my new, 10-stop filter and I'm so glad I have one! I still need to figure out the color-casting and positioning but the effect it produces in bright daylight will allow me to do so much with water scenes. On our way to L.A., we ate at Duke's - a Hawaiian restaurant on the PCH where I had one of the best blended drinks I've ever had with ocean views. From there, we went for a short visit to downtown Hollywood; we did some of the walk of fame until hard road closures sprung up everywhere. It turns out, President Obama was arriving to do a spot on Jimmy Kimmel Live; we didn't really have a choice to go anywhere, and I'm sort of glad because we were in the prime location to see the presidential motorcade. 20 minutes later, Cadillac One and a following of maybe 60 police motorcycles and other vehicles drove on through. The best part, there wasn't any traffic getting back to L.A.- a near miracle. We met up with Josh & Christa in Tujunga (not Tu Junga) - a biker town if there ever was one. We had some margaritas then off to one of Josh's favorites - the Rattler - where we met some cool townies :)
