Michelle & Joe: A Thimble Creek Farm Wedding
This past June I had the great pleasure of photographing Michelle & Joe's Wedding on their brand new wedding venue property: Thimble Creek Farm in Whitefield, Maine.
Thimble Creek Farm is a venue that has been completely built up from scratch by Michelle, Joe and their family and friends. It is a work in progress, but has come such a long way, and just in time for their very own wedding.
Because of the uniqueness of this place, I spent more time than usual photographing all the details and venue spaces. Just to give you an idea, here's a breakdown of how "DIY" this place, and wedding,
The center piece of the ceremony space is the Moongate, created by the father of the bride. The stone aisle was laid down by the bride & groom, family & friends, with stones provided by Joe's aunt and uncle, The rock wall was built up and restored, and the Hostas in the aisle were transplanted by the bride, groom, Kelly Eaton, and family. The green farm doors that serve as an entrance to the aisle were built by the father of the bride, and painted by Michelle. The farm tables used at the reception were built by the groom and stained by the bride and her aunt. Michelle's wedding dress was designed by her, and made by her aunt. Even the wedding rings were handmade by the bride and groom!
Everything looked like a woodland fairy heaven! I loved all the little details - the warm lighting in the tent, the rustic tables and tons and tons of fresh flowers.
Here are some more of my favorites from the ceremony, reception and portrait session:
